New Delhi. World number one tennis player Yannick Sinner has created history. Italy’s star player Sinner won the Australian Open title for the second consecutive time. He defended his title by defeating Germany’s Alexander Zverev in straight sets in the men’s singles final. Sinner had become champion in Melbourne last time also. Sinner became rich after winning the title. He got as much prize money as IPL. Italy’s 23-year-old Sinner defeated world second seed Zverev 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-3 without losing any break point. Sinner won the title twice in a row after Jim Courier in 1992 and 1993. Became the youngest player to win this trophy.
Jannik Sinner received approximately Rs 19 crore for winning the Australian Open. Till the finals, Sinner had earned 1.9 million dollars. For winning just one match in singles matches, the player got around Rs 17.18 lakh. After Djokovic, the then top-ranked player, defeated second-ranked Nadal in 2019, this was the first time that the top two ranked players were facing each other in the title match.

Sinner became champion for the third time in Grand Slam
This is Sinner’s 21st consecutive victory. He has become champion for the third time in the last five Grand Slams. From last year till now, his win-loss record is 80-6 and during this period he has won a total of nine tournaments. During this time, Sinner has faced the biggest problem due to the confirmation of small amount of anabolic steroids in his sample twice in March last year. However, this thing was made public at the time of the start of the US Open. He then won the US Open title. However, on the appeal of the World Anti-Doping Agency, this case is to be heard in April.
Sinner reached number 8 in this matter
Sinner held two members of his team responsible for this and threw them out. Sinner is the eighth player in the Open Era (which began in 1968) to win all three Grand Slam finals while losing all three of his first. Zverev is the seventh player to face. Zverev has previously reached the finals of the 2020 US Open and 2024 French Open.
