Actor Shahid Kapoor had revealed that his parents were separated when he was 3 years old. He lived with his mother, he was able to meet his father only once a year. Because of this other children used to harass them.

Shahid said- was 3 years old when parents separated
In a conversation with Raj Shamani, Shahid said- I come from a house where I was not together since I was 3 years. I spent most of the time with my mother. He was able to see the father only once a year.
He further said- parents are like your two legs. But when there is no leg, you feel that you are not able to create a balance. The way the world is made, both parents have a role. You cannot define it.
‘Not Papa, but Nanaji was always present for me’
Shahid told that even though his father was not present everyday, Nana always stood for him. He said that there are very good memories with Nanaji.

Children used to disturb Shahid
Shahid told that in childhood, the children nearby used to make him feel that they do not live with the father. He said about this- children are very mean. When your parents are not together, they make you feel bad about it. Others have made me feel like this. They did not know what they were doing. But it seemed that my life was over.
